JOB SUMMARY
As a Sales Associate at Cypher Africa, you will be an integral part of our sales team, focusing on identifying, engaging, and converting potential clients to expand our products and services. Your role involves a blend of prospecting, client engagement, and collaboration with the technical team to deliver tailored products and services that meet client needs. You will be responsible for managing the sales pipeline, conducting market research, and maintaining relationships with both new and existing clients. Your goal is to drive revenue growth while providing exceptional customer service.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Direct Sales Activities
- Prospecting: Identifying and reaching out to potential enterprise and public sector customers through various methods such as cold calling, door-to-door sales, networking, partnerships, and social media.
- Product Demonstrations: Conducting presentations and demos to showcase how the company’s products or services meet the needs of potential customers.
- Negotiating and Closing Deals: Negotiating terms, pricing, and contracts with customers to close sales and secure business agreements.
- Follow-ups: Maintaining regular contact with leads and prospects to move them through the sales funnel and close deals.
Customer Relationship Management
- Building Relationships: Developing and nurturing long-term relationships with clients to encourage repeat business and referrals.
- Customer Support: Assisting customers with any issues or questions they have about the product or service, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.
- Account Management: Managing key accounts to ensure they receive the best possible service and support, and identifying opportunities for upselling or cross-selling.
Strategic Functions
- Market Intelligence: Gathering information about market trends, customer needs, and competitive activities to inform sales strategies and product development.
- Sales Strategy Development: Contributing to the development of sales plans and strategies to meet organizational goals and objectives.
- Collaboration with Marketing: Working closely with the marketing team to align sales efforts with marketing campaigns and initiatives, ensuring consistent messaging and branding.
Additional Roles
- Training and Development: Continuously improving their own sales skills and product knowledge, and sometimes training new sales team members.
- Reporting: Maintaining accurate records of sales activities, customer interactions, and pipeline status, and reporting these to management.
- Attending Industry Events: Participating in trade shows, conferences, and other industry events to network, stay informed about industry developments, and promote the company’s products or services.
REQUIREMENTS
- Diploma in Business, Marketing, or a related field.
- Technical Knowledge: A solid understanding of IT products, services, and industry trends. This includes familiarity with software, hardware, networking, cloud computing, and cybersecurity.
- Sales Skills: Strong sales techniques, including prospecting, negotiating, closing deals, and handling objections.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively present and sell complex IT solutions to diverse clients.
- Customer Relationship Management: Proficiency in building and maintaining relationships with clients, understanding their needs, and providing tailored solutions.
- Problem-Solving Skills: The ability to analyze customer issues and provide effective IT solutions.
- Digital Literacy: Competence in using CRM software (e.g., Cypher ERP), digital marketing tools, and office productivity software.
EXPERIENCE
- 1year Prior experience in sales, particularly in the IT sector, is highly valued.
